Black Rock Mortgage is committed to making blackrockmortgage.com accessible to everyone — including people with disabilities. Here’s what we’re doing, what we know we can improve, and how to reach us if something isn’t working for you.
Our Commitment
We believe everyone deserves equal access to mortgage information and the ability to apply for a home loan, regardless of ability or technology used. Web accessibility isn’t just a legal requirement for us — it’s part of how we serve our community in Florida and beyond.
Accessibility Standards We Follow
We strive to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). These guidelines cover four core principles:
- Perceivable — Content is presented in ways all users can detect (text alternatives for images, captions for video, sufficient color contrast).
- Operable — All functionality is available via keyboard, with adequate time to read and interact.
- Understandable — Content and navigation are clear, predictable, and consistent.
- Robust — Content works reliably with current and future assistive technologies.
What We’ve Done
To improve accessibility on our site, we have:
- Designed our site using a Kadence theme structure that supports accessibility best practices
- Implemented semantic HTML (proper heading hierarchy, descriptive links, form labels)
- Added alternative text to meaningful images
- Ensured color contrast between text and backgrounds meets WCAG AA standards
- Made sure interactive elements (buttons, calculators, forms) are keyboard-navigable
- Designed mobile-friendly layouts that work on screen readers and zoom-enabled browsers
- Used the FAQPage schema for our FAQ accordions to support screen reader navigation
Known Limitations
We’re committed to ongoing improvement, and we recognize that some areas of our site may not yet fully meet WCAG 2.1 AA standards. We’re actively working to address:
- Older blog posts that pre-date our accessibility audit may have alt text gaps or formatting inconsistencies — these are being updated as we migrate content
- Embedded third-party content (such as the YouTube video on our pre-approval page) is governed by the third party’s accessibility features and may not always meet our standards
- PDF documents (such as our Florida Home Buyer’s Survival Guide) may not be fully tagged for screen readers — alternate formats are available on request
- Our online loan application portal is hosted by Coast 2 Coast Mortgage and follows their accessibility practices, which may differ from this Site
If you can’t access something on our site, we want to know. Reach out using any of the methods below and we’ll work with you to provide the information or service you need in an alternative format.
Compatible Technologies
Our site is designed to work with the following assistive technologies:
- Screen readers (NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver, TalkBack)
- Keyboard-only navigation
- Browser zoom up to 200%
- Speech recognition software (Dragon NaturallySpeaking)
- Operating system accessibility features (Windows Magnifier, macOS VoiceOver, iOS/Android accessibility settings)
We test against current versions of major browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge) on desktop and mobile. If you’re using older or unusual technology and run into issues, please let us know.

Ongoing Review
Accessibility is not a one-time project. We review our site against WCAG 2.1 AA standards on an ongoing basis, audit new pages and content as they are added, and incorporate user feedback into our improvements. This statement is reviewed at least annually and updated when we make significant changes to the site or our accessibility practices.
Third-Party Content
Our site may contain or link to content provided by third parties — including embedded videos, mapping tools, social media widgets, and our online loan application portal. While we work with partners who share our commitment to accessibility, we cannot guarantee the accessibility of third-party content. If a third-party tool isn’t working for you, please contact us and we’ll help you access the underlying information another way.
Formal Complaint Process
If you’ve reported an accessibility issue and don’t feel it has been adequately addressed, you may file a complaint with the U.S. Department of Justice under the Americans with Disabilities Act. Information about how to do that is available at ada.gov.
